How On Earth Did SquareWon Come To Be? How It All Started.

We were working as financial advisors when we first heard about cryptocurrency. It kept coming up with our clients. They wanted to know more, and we needed to figure out the best way to serve them.

At first, the goal was to learn more in order to better direct our clients’ financial decisions, but as we dove deeper we quickly grasped the full potential and disruptive power of cryptocurrency and its underlying blockchain technology.

But whenever we asked our colleagues about crypto, we found that most were quick to dismiss it.  All we heard was: “It’s a scam, a Ponzi scheme!” or “Stay away from it.”  

We knew it wasn’t like that. This had the potential to disrupt our whole industry. We spent hours together discussing the subject and the implications it’ll have on the world. As we strove to educate ourselves, we quickly realized there was no one authority on blockchain and crypto. We struggled to figure out who to listen to and where the best resources were.

And that’s why people were quick to dismiss it. They just didn’t know enough and who to trust.

It is a space that is still confined to mostly tech enthusiasts. And we knew techie talk would only distance the type of people who want to learn about crypto, scared off by the complexities and terminologies in the space.

Remember, we’re ordinary people without technical backgrounds dispelling the myth that you have to be a computer whiz to understand crypto. After all, we’re the evidence that crypto can be understood by the masses.

We instinctively knew that the key was to make learning about crypto fun and we thought that there was no better way to introduce crypto to more people than through a game. Looking around the space we found, to our surprise, that very few people were emphasizing the fun side of crypto or allowing people to practice the skills without placing actual investment in the space. We decided to create a platform that integrates gaming and learning, allowing people to learn more about crypto and crypto trading without the risk of investing their own money. And keeping all of that fun, of course.

We chose the name SquareWon because it embodies both starting from the beginning (at Square “One”) and also how the game gives every player the chance to win.

We’re learning just as much as anyone else. This puts us in a unique position to understand what it’s like to start as a beginner. We’ve been on that journey that so many are about to embark on. Unfortunately, we didn’t have a place like SquareWon to practice until we were ready.  It would have saved us a lot of money!

We can help people understand that cryptocurrency can be used not only as a wealth-building tool but also as a way to better their own lives, probably in ways that we can’t even imagine yet.
